We've been getting fliers for Red Apple Pizza since we moved into our house almost 5 years ago, but for one reason or another we hadn't given it a try until tonight. I was pleasantly surprised. I got a large combo pizza (pepperoni, sausage, beef, mushrooms, green peppers and black olives - $16 with a coupon that also gave us a "free" 2 liter coke) and it was pretty good. The crust was medium thickness, it was lightly sauced and all the ingredients were fine. In all it was little bit salty for me, though not for Mike. The toppings separated easily from the floppy crust (you will need a plate to eat this pizza), and I think it would have benefitted from more cheese (but I usually order extra cheese for my pizzas). In all it was good and I'd order it again.
We also had an order of garlic bread with cheese ($3) which was a bit crusty but very garlicky. I'd also order it again.

I agree with the previous feedback on Red Apple Pizza in San Leandro. I'm commenting here because I moved nearby to Red Apple three years ago and prefer it to all the pizza places around. We've not grown tired of it, and in fact I think I'll order a cheeze and pepperoni right now. The price is right!

A couple of days ago we didn't want to bother with dinner, but we didn't want to get pizza either (or Chinese, or Indian, the other delivery options available). Red Apple listed fish n'chips on its flyer, so we figured we'd give it a try. Bad call.
The fish was not coated on a traditional beer batter, but instead had some sort of gritty coating that was neither flavorful or fun to eat. The very thin stripes tasted stale and it was clear that the fish had been bought frozen and then dumped into the deep fryer (or the microwave for that matter). It had a dark brown appearance and did not look at all like the picture in the flyer.
The fries were also soggy and soft, the type of fries you get at a school cafeteria. Frozen, no doubt, and maybe even microwaved. We probably could have made a better meal out of Safeway's freezer.
The mini cheese pizza we got for Mika, however, was pretty good. In all, order pizza from Red Apple, but stay away from their fish.

I think the "Posted by: Marga at September 29, 2006 10:09 AM" is about another place, Because I knew that RED APPLE PIZZA does not have any kind of Fries Food or Fish.
If you dout about it go to : http://www.redapplepizza.com to check their Menu and Coupon.

You are right! It wasn't Red Apple Pizza that I ordered from that one time but Big Apple Pizza. I didn't notice when ordering off the flyer we got. Anyway, Big Apple Pizza has good pizza (we ordered a large cheese & pepperoni last week and we liked it), but their fish & chips (and their wings, for that matter) suck.
