I knew nothing of Chilean cuisine before I came upon it a few weeks ago, and I was quite surprised to find out that it's very
close to Argentinian cuisine. Chileans like grilled meats, savory tarts an empanadas - just like
we do. But they also like typical Andean dishes such as charquicán and German ones - many Germans settled in Chile
over the years - such as "kuchen" (cakes). Chileans also challenge Peruvians as the creator of the pisco sour, I don't
drink hard alcohol, so I skipped it.
I chose the dishes I did because they did not require using the grill and because they were different from their Argentine
cousins. I was pretty lucky in my choices, as they were all pretty good. What I had was:
