Other Cuisines Marga’s Food ![]() |
One of my biggest discoveries on my international food adventure has been Dutch cuisine. It's probably not distinct enough to merit it a name among the greatest cuisines of all, but it's damn good. So when I discovered that the region of Frisland covered both parts of Holland and Germany, I figured I should give Frisian food a try.
It wasn't a big try, I just made a stew and then a beef dish that came from a Frisian recipe site, but turned out to be the invention of the site-owner. No matter, it was very good. This is what I made:
- Hachee
Beef in Gingerbread Sauce - out of this world delicious- Kruidkoek
The gingerbread for the recipe above- (un)ostfriesische Roastbeefstreifen
Not-really-Frisian Roast Beef StripsRelated cuisines I've cooked so far: Alsatian, Austrian, Bavarian, Central German, Belgian, Dutch, East German, Friulian, German, Liechesteiner
