I wasn't sure what to expect when I started cooking Dutch food and I still don't. The dishes I made don't seem to be particularly related to each other, but then again I didn't try to be either comprehensive or consistent in my cooking.
I found a couple of excellent websites with Dutch recipes that I urge you to explore: About.com's Dutch food section and the recipe section of Go Dutch.com
This is what I made:
