The Baleares are an archipelago near the eastern coast of Spain. They are culturally related to Catalonia, and they share both a language and a greater cuisine with that Spanish region. They have, however, their own specialties, such as the ensaimadas pastries which formed part of my menu. The food I cooked was homey, yet refined, and pretty good as well.
