Flan de Chocolate y Coco

Chocolate-Coconut Flan

Simple, easy to make and quite tasty. Personally, I prefer plain flan, but this is a good choice if you're looking for something different.

Chocolate-Coconut Flan

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup sweetened grated coconut
  • 1/4 cup powdered chocolate
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. water

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350F.

Using an electric or manual blender, blend together the eggs, milks, coconut and chocolate. Set aside. Ready 6-8 small ramekins, depending on their size.

In a small saucepan, heat the sugar and water until the sugar caramelizes, being careful that it doesn't burn. Carefully pour the sugar into the bottom and sides of each ramekin. Fill with the egg mixture. Pour about 3/4" of water into a roasting or lasagna pan. Place ramekins in the pan and bake in the oven for about one hour. Cool before eating or putting in the fridge.
