Tofu with Ginger




I made this variation of the Beef with Ginger recipe for my vegetarian daughter. Unfortunately it didn't work as well as the beef recipe did. The tofu simply did not absorb the flavors so it was bland.

Tofu with Ginger

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2" ginger root, peeled and minced
  • 1 lb extra-firm tofu, cut into bite-size slices
  • 2 Tbsp oyster sauce
  • salt

Directions

Heat oil over high heat in a wok. Add onion, clove and garlic and stir fry until the mixture releases its aroma. Add the tofu and stir fried until it's warm through. Mix in the oyster sauce and cook for 30 seconds. Taste and season with salt as needed.
