Review of private label items at Safeway/Vons/Albertson’s
Safeway is a supermarket chain mostly operating in the West Coast. They have over 900 supermarkets, under both the Safeway name and Vons. They are currently owned by Albertsons, though they are in the process of being sold to Kroeger’s.
Safeway operates a several home brands or private labels, and in general, these are of the same quality as better known brand names but somewhat cheaper. Here are my reviews of items that Safeway sells unbranded or under private labels.
Safeway is currently the closest supermarket to my house and the one I shop the most. They do both delivery and pickup – they’ll bring your groceries to your truck, and I mostly shop that way. Safeway is significantly more expensive than Target and Trader Joe’s, so I usually only buy products on sale.
