The Dai people are an ethnic minority who live predominantly in southern Yunnan. They are related, both ethnically and linguistically, to the Tai people of northern Laos and Thailand. Their cuisine, however, is very much its own. Dai dishes emphasize fresh herbs, low-fat cooking methods and straight forward flavors.
Most of the dishes I made were very successful:
- Cucumber and Peanut salad
Simple and refreshing- Dai Grilled Chicken
A traditional dish which I served with- Pineapple Sticky Rice
served in a pineapple shell!- Stir-Fried Beef with Mint
