Margarita's International Recipes

I love cooking almost as much as I love travelling and learning about other cultures. Cooking ethnic food is a way of being able to do both at the same time. I have cooked ethnic food since I first started cooking - my first cookbook was a Caribbean recipe book I checked out from the Berkeley library, but I often end up reverting to the same "safe" dishes or cuisines. In order to stop myself from doing that, and so as to explore new culinary and cultural frontiers, I have started this project of cooking food from all over the world, alphabetically. It will probably take my whole life to complete, of course, there are hundreds of countries and regions to be explored, but I hope that in the process I will learn a lot, not only about the food, but about the cultures that create them.

You can also consult my international recipes by course or see them organized by culinary region.

There are some cuisines I've had to skip because I wasn't able to find enough recipes I wanted to cook. I will revisit them as I find recipes that inspire me. You can comment about my project and recipes in my blog.
